Getting Started in the Adult Industry – Some Honest Insights
Over the past few days at the Venus Expo, we’ve been asked many times how to get started and how to succeed in this industry.
The honest answer is: the path looks very different for women and for men.
There are countless opportunities and offers out there—many people will be eager to support you. However, not all of them will be honest or have your best interests at heart. Please be careful.
We are a small team, primarily focused on VR, but we also have experience in 2D productions, streaming, and websites. You are always welcome to reach out to us for advice. We are transparent: if we don’t know something, we will simply tell you. Be cautious of anyone who claims to “know everything”—that’s just not realistic.
Our team includes experienced female performers as well as technically skilled professionals. We don’t sell services, we don’t ask for money, and we don’t make promises we can’t keep. Instead, we are happy to connect you with trustworthy contacts and, where possible, offer work opportunities within our own brands or with our partners. If you’re interested, please feel free to use our contact form—we’ll take it from there.
The reality is more challenging. Demand for male performers is significantly lower, and very few men manage to build a fully sustainable career in this field. Many male actors continue to work regular day jobs alongside their adult work.
That said, your best chance lies in being versatile: if you can perform, film, edit, and produce quality content independently, you’ll have more opportunities. While there are agencies and companies that hire men, they are fewer, and competition is much higher than demand.
Some practical advice:
Of course, appearance and certain physical traits can open additional doors, and yes—some companies prioritize very specific looks. But speaking honestly: as a small team, we rarely have the need to hire male performers, and we currently cannot recommend specific places to apply. If this changes, we will update this information.
✅ In short: Be cautious, be prepared, and stay realistic about the challenges and opportunities. The industry is not easy, but with the right support, transparency, and mindset, you can find your own path.
